A Book Blurb

    Hello everyone! New day, new spirit, and new blog. Haha. Today, Johanna the Elephant🐘 is going to write a book blurb. Do you know what is the definition of blurb? According to Wikipedia, a blurb is a short promotional piece accompanying a piece of creative work. Hm... Interesting! Let's get started!

    I choose a Pre-Intermediate book entitled "Open Doors" from English e-Reader (https://english-e-reader.net/). This book is written by Frank Brennan. It is not a long story, since it consists 5.027 words in 18 pages. What is this book about?

    The book is about a blind woman from her birth, named Kathy Page. She was a famous journalist who always gave an honest interview, however, many people -especially the politicians- were scared of her. She could tell whether this person is telling the truth or not by paying attention on her/his voice. One day, she met a great doctor who cured her blindness. Page became a different woman, because she lost her sense to know the truth until she decided to close her eyes, focused on his/her voice, and be the old Kathy Page.

Is it possible a blind woman since birth be a famous journalist of British radio? Well, it is a “yes” for Kathy Page. She proves it, and many politicians are scared of her. She can tell by focusing on his/her voice, whether her opponent tells the truth or not, however, everything change after she meets a doctor at one of her interview. The doctor says, he can make her see what she can not see at that time, and the surgery goes really well. After the surgery, she becomes a different Kathy Page. What happens to her? Why is everybody starting to lose interest on her? Has she lost her sensibility as a journalist? Does she regret her decision? Will she be able to bring back the old Kathy Page to her audience?

A witty woman with a calm voice who can be ruthless towards her opponent is having a big change in her life. A suitable book for those who need motivation and love an inspirational story.
